Washington DC Waterfront
Closest Metro stop:
L'Enfant Plaza The Washington DC Waterfront (view map) is known for its seafood restaurants and the famous DC Fish Market. The Fish Market is located at the northern corner of Water Street tucked underneath the I-395 overpass and consists of many seafood stands selling fresh catch. You can find pretty much any seafood you are looking for including fish, crabs, shrimp, oysters, lobster. If you like, you can have the stores steam your selection right there or take the raw (or even alive) catch home to cook. Even if you are not looking to buy seafood, the Fish Market is a widely visited tourist attraction. Continuing south, you will come to East Potomac Park and Hains Point, the location of the famous "Awakening" statue. Phillips Flagship - This venerable restaurant has been a fixture on Water Street, Washington DC for many years. It offers a seafood buffet for lunch ($15) and dinner ($25). The restaurant is right on the water and grants you waterfront views, and outdoor patio dining in warm weather. Our favorite dishes on the buffet include the garlic mussels, steamed giant crawfish, (view map).
